Somatic Sexology:
A Pathway to Presence
Reconnect with your body’s unique map of pleasure and boundaries. We work together at a pace that feels safe for you, moving from over-analysing toward a direct, physical understanding of yourself.
What is Somatic Sexology?
Most of us were never given a dedicated, neutral space to talk about sex in an educated way. Without a formal place to learn, we are often left to navigate intimacy through guesswork, performance, or silence. Somatic sexology is that missing space.
This is a professional environment designed for exploration. This work is experiential, focusing on what is actually happening in your body in real time rather than just discussing theory. Guided by the core principles of consent, presence, and pleasure, we use five practical skills to help you stay present and access more pleasure:
Breath
Awareness
Touch
Sound
Movement
There is no guesswork here. We use anatomical models and exercises to help you understand the actual mechanics of your arousal. To ensure a professional and safe environment, we move at a slow pace and remain fully clothed for the entire process. By choosing the duration of your own practice, we ensure your progress is sustainable and fits into your real life.
Is this the right fit for you?
-
If you often feel stuck in "over-thinking" or "performance mode" during intimacy, we work to move you back into a direct, felt sense of pleasure and presence.
-
For couples with a stable foundation who want a deeper understanding of how your bodies interact and how to communicate your desires more clearly. Whether you are navigating shifts in how you connect or find yourselves at different "speeds," we move beyond the frustration of "mismatched" expectations to understand the somatic mechanics of how you each experience arousal.
-
When the body moves through significant shifts, our relationship with desire and sensation often changes too. I work with those navigating the physical and emotional landscape of postpartum, menopause, and health journeys (including recovery from illness or surgery). I also support those moving through relational transitions, such as navigating intimacy after a long-term partnership or rediscovering connection in an "empty nest" household.
-
For anyone looking to move beyond guesswork and gain a practical, educated understanding of their body’s unique map of arousal, sensations, and boundaries.
-
dedicated sex-positive space where you can bring your honest questions and experiences to be met with curiosity and somatic insight. This is a professional environment to map your authentic desires and the complexities of your personal sexuality without judgment.
When to Seek Other support:
-
This work is strictly clothes-on. I do not provide tantric bodywork or sexual services.
-
My work is trauma-informed, but if you are currently in a period of acute trauma or significant bodily dissociation, I require that you work with a trauma specialist first.
-
This is a collaborative process. We move at a pace that respects your boundaries, not a deadline.
Some Nice Words
Inside a session: What to expect
-
Our sessions are a co-creation. I may suggest specific somatic practices, but I will also check in to see what your body is asking for in the moment. You are the expert on your own sensations.
-
We start every session with a simple embodiment exercise. This is a guided way to help you become present and notice sensations in your body right now
-
We teach you how to use touch, breath, sound, movement and awareness to navigate your own sensations and explore what brings you pleasure. We pause frequently so you can stay present with what you are feeling and build your personal map.
-
To remove the guesswork, I use physical anatomical models and on-screen visual diagrams/worksheets. This helps you understand anatomy and the actual mechanics of desire.
-
I take the notes during our time together so you can stay fully in your body. Within 24 hours, I will email you a summary and recommended "home play" exercises. You choose the duration of these practices (ranging from 1 to 5 minutes) to keep them consistent with your lifestyle.
-
Absolutely. Many clients find that being in their own home allows them to feel safer and more relaxed. Because somatic work is about your internal sensation, the screen actually provides a helpful "container" that keeps the focus on your own body.
-
Just a private space where you won't be interrupted and a stable internet connection. You don't need any special equipment or prior knowledge—just your presence and curiosity.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
While my background is in psychology, somatic sexology is future-focused. While we may discuss your past or present experiences, our sessions prioritise building practical embodiment skills and physical awareness rather than clinical diagnosis or talk-only therapy.
-
No. As sessions are conducted entirely online via Zoom, there is no physical touch between us. This is a strictly clothes-on, professional environment focused on your self-directed exploration.
-
It is completely normal. Most of us haven't had a professional, sex-positive space to discuss these topics. We move at a slow pace with frequent pausing to ensure you feel in control of the process at all times.
-
Yes. This is a non-judgmental, inclusive space. I work with individuals and couples of all genders and orientations, including those in the kink and sex work communities.
-
Relational work requires the active consent of both partners. If one person is hesitant, I recommend booking an Individual Pathway first. Often, when one partner begins their own somatic journey, it creates a more inviting space for the other to join later.
-
That is perfectly okay. Part of our Foundations Session is spent exploring your curiosities. We don't need a formal "problem" to solve; we can simply begin with a desire to feel more present.
-
We start with a 30-minute Foundations Session ($50 NZD). This is a low-pressure way to meet via Zoom, discuss your needs, and ensure my approach is the right fit for you.
-
No. I believe in a pay-as-you-go structure to keep the work sustainable and accessible. You choose the pace that fits your life and budget.
-
Somatic work is a process of "unlearning" and "re-learning." While some clients feel a shift after 3 to 6 sessions, others choose to work together longer to deepen their practice. There is no set timeline.
-
My booking system automatically detects your local time zone, so you can easily select a slot that works for your schedule, whether you are in New Zealand, Australia, or further abroad.
-
Absolutely. Many clients find that being in their own home allows them to feel safer and more relaxed. Because somatic work is about your internal sensation, the virtual setup actually provides a helpful professional structure that keeps the focus on your own body.
-
These are simple, sustainable practices that I suggest between sessions. They help you integrate the skills we practice on Zoom into your actual daily life.
-
Yes. I take the notes during our time together so you can stay fully in your body. Within 24 hours, I will email you a summary and your recommended "home play" exercises.
