Somatic Sex Coaching for People in Relationships
A safe, inclusive space to drop out of your heads, unlearn conditioning and return to your bodies.
Do any of these statements sound familiar?
Feeling like one of you is always pursuing while the other is avoiding, leaving you both exhausted by the cycle
Wanting to feel desired, rather than feeling like intimacy is just another task on a daily to-do list
Experiencing a sense of anxiety or pressure around initiating, which leads to avoiding physical closeness altogether
Loving each other deeply, but feeling like you have drifted into being roommates who have lost their sexual chemistry
Bracing or pulling away when touched because you worry it will automatically be expected to lead to sex
Struggling to shut off a busy mental loop, making it difficult to drop into your body and stay present during intimacy
Feeling like you are constantly compromising your own desires or boundaries just to keep the peace and make your partner happy
Finding that daily routines, work stress, or family schedules leave you too depleted to transition from "doing mode" into a sensual space
Fearing that being honest about what you truly need or want in bed will hurt your partner's feelings or lead to conflict
You are not broken & you are not alone
If any of these resonate, it is important that you know these dynamics are all common in long-term relationships. Most of us were never taught how to navigate changes in desire, stay connected to our bodies when we are stressed, or openly speak about our fears, needs, desires and boundaries about sex. Over time, performance anxiety and daily exhaustion quietly replace the connection that used to come easily.
How Somatic Sex Coaching Can help:
-
Talk therapy helps you analyse a problem, but somatic work allows us to uncover where your nervous system holds stress, tension and self protection.
We will then use body-based practical tools to help rebuild safety in sex and intimacy.
-
You will learn about the difference between arousal and desire, how to build both desire and arousal, what turns you on, how to ask for it and what your brakes and accelerators to pleasure are.
-
You will learn grounding techniques to ensure you are in your body and able to feel pleasure through sensations.
-
We create a low-stakes environment to practice communicating boundaries, desires, and turn-ons without fear of rejection, guilt, or defensiveness.
-
By unlearning sexual scripts from places like movies and porn about how sex "should" look, you can rediscover playfulness, curiosity, warmth, and physical closeness.
How it Works
Somatic sex coaching is collaborative, conversational, and experiential. Everything is tailored toward the goals we create during your foundation session. Because you will be unlearning conditioning that has been present since childhood, it is important to know that this deep work takes time and is not a quick fix.
The Foundation Session
Every pathway starts here. During this initial session, you will get the opportunity to explore where you currently are, and we will create goals to achieve during our time together.
Tailored Somatic Exploration
We use a blend of somatic and psychological approaches tailored to you. This can include working with tools like breath, physical awareness, touch, sound, and movement to help you drop out of your thoughts, unlearn old patterns, and reconnect with physical sensation.
Practical Integration
The work we do is designed to translate into your real life. We will create small, manageable practices you can explore at home in between sessions so that you can achieve your goals.
Scope of Practice
Please note that somatic sex coaching is an embodied, goal-oriented educational process. I am a certified somatic sex coach, not a couples counsellor or relationship therapist. Our work together focuses on physical connection, nervous system regulation, and intimacy patterns. If your relationship is experiencing acute distress or active trauma, traditional relationship counselling is the best first step. We can absolutely use somatic coaching alongside therapy once your foundational relationship dynamic feels stable.
Ready to Transform your Sex Life?
The path to shared pleasure and presence doesn't have to be navigated alone. If you are both ready to unlearn old conditioning and build a deeper connection with each other, let’s connect.
The first step on your journey is a 30-minute Foundation Call. This is a safe, completely confidential space for us to meet, discuss your goals as a couple, and ensure this somatic pathway is the right fit for you.
There is a $50 investment for this call, which will be fully credited toward your first coaching package or pay-as-you-go session when you decide to move forward.
Frequently Asked Questions

Think of our Foundation Session as a comfortable space where we lay the groundwork for everything to come. It’s less about jumping straight into deep work and more about getting on the same page and making sure you feel confident before you commit to ongoing sessions.
Here is a look at what we will do together:
Set your goals: We’ll talk about where you are right now and where you want to go in terms of your sexuality.
Establish Our Partnership: We’ll look at how we team up. My role as your coach is to guide you, hold a safe space, and offer tools. Your role is to show up as honestly as you can, participate, and try out tools between our sessions.
Introduce Your Somatic Toolkit: We will explore the 5 Somatic Skills that we’ll use throughout our time together:
Awareness
Breath
Sound
Touch
Movement
Housekeeping: We’ll quickly go over the practical things, like scheduling, how we check in with each other between sessions, and standard confidentiality and cancellation policies
By the end of our time, the admin stuff will be out of the way, you’ll have a clear sense of the tools we'll use, and we will be completely ready to begin the work towards your dream sex life!
-
No, there is no nudity involved. Any practices that I recommend will be practised on non-erotic body parts during our sessions. You can then explore them in private, and we will explore how it went at the start of our next session.
-
It is very common for one partner to be ready before the other. If your partner isn't ready to join you, you can absolutely begin this work on your own. Doing your own somatic work can have a huge, positive ripple effect on your relationship. To explore individual pathways, you can take a look at either the For People with Vulvas or the For People with Penises pages, depending on your specific anatomy.
-
Because we are unlearning deep conditioning and rewriting how you connect with your body, this work takes time. Though everyone’s journey is different, most clients find that committing to a series of sessions allows for the deeper, lasting integration needed to achieve their goals.

Every relationship journey begins with a 30-minute Foundation Session ($50 NZD) to map out your goals together. Following that initial call, you can choose how you want to move forward:
Pay-As-You-Go: $290 NZD per 90-minute session. This option allows you both to book and pay for your joint sessions one by one, moving entirely at your own pace with the spaciousness of a full 90-minute session.
4-Session Relational Bundle: $850 NZD total. Couples looking for dedicated focus and consistency can transition to a hybrid package that balances shared space with individual exploration. This includes two 60-minute individual sessions (one for each partner) and two 90-minute joint sessions. Your $50 foundations fee is credited directly toward this package, leaving a remaining investment of $800 NZD.

Sex therapy typically focuses on diagnosing and treating psychological blocks, dysfunction, or past trauma through talk therapy. Somatic sex coaching is present-focused, collaborative, and body-centred. We focus on embodiment, education, and actionable practices to help you expand your capacity for pleasure and presence.
-
Yes, absolutely. Somatic sex coaching pairs incredibly well with traditional talk therapy. While your therapist helps you navigate your emotional dynamics, communication loops, and relationship history, our sessions focus specifically on the physical, embodied side of intimacy. Working with both approaches together can give you a well-rounded path toward reconnection.

Sessions are 90 minutes for couples to ensure we have enough time to explore two individuals’ experiences with the care needed
